The sharing feature within LedgerDocs was integrated into the system during the latest release and offers users a simple way to quickly and securely share their documents with clients and work colleagues around the world. This feature gives users two options to share their documents; you are able to send an email within the application, or alternatively, you are able to receive a secure link that can be sent through any method you like. Both of these functions offer the recipient a secure link that brings them directly to the document within a secure LedgerDocs viewing location. It is important to note that this link only provides viewing privileges to the document you wish to share, regardless of whether you are a LedgerDocs account holder or not.
When Would You Use This Feature?
This is a useful feature for a variety of circumstances. For example, a bookkeeper may have a question for a client relating to a specific document, and instead of hunting for the original email, they are able to share a link directly to the document, while attaching the necessary questions and comments within the email. This helps to save time, while maintaining the security of the file. Clients are also able to use this feature in a similar manner, if they have questions relating to specific document within the application, they are able to send a secure link directly to their bookkeeper. The feature is based on collaboration, and allows for users to work with their clients, work colleagues, and consultants to save time and increase productivity.
How Does It Work?
To utilize the sharing feature, simply open the document you would like to send in the “document viewer” window, and navigate to the right side of the page. You will find the “Share” section located on the bottom right of the window. There are two options; you are able to email the link directly to your client's or work colleague's email account, or copy the secure link which allows for you to send multiple documents at once.
The sharing function is a time effective way to share documents within the application, while maintaining the security of the document. The link will send users directly to a secure LedgerDocs page where they are able to view the document.
